What's Nuevo should work for everyone

Draft, not legal advice. This page is a placeholder written to show the structure. The final text will be written or reviewed by a lawyer before the iPhone app ships. Questions in the meantime: hello@whatsnuevo.com.

Our goal

We want everyone to be able to find and plan their next night out. We're working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on the website, and toward Apple's accessibility guidance in the iPhone app. We haven't had an outside audit yet, so we don't claim full conformance.

What we do today

  • Pages are built with headings, labels and landmarks so screen readers can move around them.
  • Buttons and controls have text labels, including the icon-only ones.
  • Animations calm down when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Every place on the map is also on the radar and in search, as a plain list.
  • Text is real text, so you can zoom the website without losing content.

Known gaps

  • The map itself is visual. Use the radar list or search to get the same places in text.
  • Some photos come from venues and press and may not have full descriptions.
  • Some links to reservation, ordering and ticket sites lead to pages we don't control.

Tell us about a barrier

If something is hard or impossible to use, email us with the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device and any assistive technology you use. A person reads every message, and we'll fix what we can.
